Today is a busy Wednesday on the islands! We are looking forward to the Chefs in Shorts event up at Chadwick's Square on Captiva this afternoon from 2 - 6pm, there is a ribbon-cutting ceremony for Meta's new Pilates/Yoga Studio on Tarpon Bay Road at 5:30, and Tony Lapi, president and CEO of Rochester Resorts Inc.(’Tween Waters Inn) is being honored by Junior Achievement at the Hyatt Coconut Point Resort at 5pm. The JA Business Hall of Fame award recognizes prominent business leaders for their professional accomplishments and commitment to the community.
Congratulations, Tony! Thank You for all that you do in our community.
How can we manage to be in all 3 places at one time? I guess Judy and Sharon will divide and conquer!

Today has brought all kinds of nice e-mails and Facebook posts from folks who saw the July 4 Fireworks show put on by Zambelli fireworks on Sunday night.
Judy and I worked very hard to raise the over $17,500 needed to fund the fireworks show after the City of Sanibel had canceled them due to budget cutbacks.
We are very thankful to the Friends of the July 4 Fireworks who helped keep our much loved island tradition alive. What a great way to honor our Founding Fathers!
